PANO | LA – 10K

PANO | LA – 10K from SCIENTIFANTASTIC on Vimeo.

PLEASE WATCH FULLSCREEN IN FULL HD
Shooting Pano LA has been the most ambitious, challenging, demanding, and rewarding project I have worked on to date. It was shot over a period of two years entirely in true panoramic form using two synced DSLR cameras side by side. The resulting panoramic timelapse footage comes in at a whopping 10K x 4K resolution when stitched. I did not shoot this film to achieve the extreme resolution. I shot it for the panoramic look, especially the compressed look you get when using long lenses.
Shooting panoramic timelapse was something I had always wanted to do. I love panoramic images and wanted to bring that look to timelapse, and I wanted to do it proper, not by faking it by just cropping the top and bottom of regular timelapse shots. I gave it a try many years ago but was never able to get the images from the two cameras to sync properly and get the images to stitched together correctly.
A couple years ago I was contacted by a client wanting some panoramic timelapse shots of LA. I told them I had tried it in the past and it did not work out to well, but that I am willing to give it another try. So I purchased some new gear and set out to my local testing locations in Malibu. The initial shots were successful so I continued shooting / testing for the next couple weeks. At that point I had acquired a few good test shots to show the client and sent them over to them. Long story short I never heard back from them about the project, but I kept shooting anyways. If it was not for that failed job/project I probably would have never got around to giving panoramic timelapse another try.

The Lion City II – Majulah

The Lion City II – Majulah from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.

Majulah – ‘Onward’.

When we pass by landscapes they appear fixed in time, but they change around us constantly. The idea behind this film is to reveal this change by returning to the same camera positions over the years.

Special thanks to Michael for the amazing soundtrack, and for keeping me motivated over the past few years of shooting.

Hello Tokyo

Hello Tokyo from Christoph Gelep on Vimeo.

This film was shot over a 5 day trip to Tokyo in January 2016.

It was my first time visiting Japan, a place I had always wanted to see. With a population of 35 million, Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world. Due to this, I soon realised how lively and energetic this city really is.

I decided to take my camera and explore this fascinating city so rich in culture, tradition and innovation.

Equipment and Software used:

Canon 5D Mark III
Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 Di VC
Samyang 14mm T3.1
Edelkrone Slider & Action Module
Adobe After Effects
Twixtor
Lightroom
LR Timelapse

Music: Bonobo – Sapphire

Los Angeles Hyperlapse/Timelapse Compilation

Los Angeles Hyperlapse/Timelapse Compilation from Vadim Tereshchenko on Vimeo.

This is compilation of hyperlapse videos that I shot over the course of the past 2 years. I spent a lot of time scouting for locations, waiting for the perfect conditions, and catching the beauty of the city. Lighting is important. Sunrises, sunsets; transitions from dawn to day, and from dusk to dark. I used a lot of self-developed tricks and techniques in both the shooting and editing processes – it took a lot of time and passion to make this video.

The music that I used is a wonderful ODESZA (odesza.com/) remix of a PRETTY LIGHTS (prettylightsmusic.com/) track entitled ONE DAY THEY’LL KNOW. There is plenty of beautiful music on this album that you can find here itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-color-map-of-the-sun-remixes/id739033391
It was hard to find the right music, but this amazing track matched perfectly with my idea for the video.

Thank you and enjoy!

Chicago Timelapse Project, Windy City Nights II

Chicago Timelapse Project, Windy City Nights II from Max Wilson on Vimeo.

Windy City Nights II is all about my continuing passion for shooting night timelapse photography in a city I truly appreciate for it’s inspiring views and beauty. This project is a continuation of my first Chicago Timelapse movie and I have been shooting for the past 18 months in my spare time in this amazing city to try and capture what your eyes do not see normally. There is something special about looking down on streets of gold and taking in the view.

Windy City Nights II is also about making new connections with Chicagoan’s and meeting new people who have assisted me throughout my journey. I truly appreciate all the new connections I have made who helped make this movie possible. My journey has been interesting with lots of rewards and filled with challenges. Chicago is not an easy city to get around with a few hundred pounds of gear and hauling it up to rooftops and other tight spaces where it sits in awkward places for long periods of time. After spending hours and days setting up shots and developing them, it’s nice to see a pretty image come to life in the form of a timelapse. It really makes me appreciate this city and all it’s uniqueness it offers. It’s not an easy process as any timelapse photographer will tell you; however, it’s very rewarding in the end. I continue to learn and am always being inspired by a rich photography community Chicago has to offer.

The gear I used to make this project are Canon 5D Mark III’s and Canon 1DX’s camera bodies as well as numerous Canon L and Cine Lenses. Motion control gear I used was the Kessler Second Shooter paired with the CineSlider and the DitoGear OmniSliders. Software used to process my timelapse sequences were LRTimelapse, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
