National Geographic named Muskoka Cottage Country in Ontario Canada the ‘#1 Best Trip of Summer 2011’ ( http://travel.nationalgeographic.com/travel/best-trips-summer-2011-photos/ ). I’ve been lucky enough to visit this incredible series of lakes and islands formed by some of the oldest rock on the planet many times. Our favorite destination is a somewhat remote old school cabin resort that saw it’s heyday in the 40s. The Arundel Lodge once bustled with activity serving guests staying in tiny cabins from the main lodge with hearty breakfasts, dinners and activities. Now it sits quietly on a tip of Walkers Point as tourists generally moved away from this style of accommodation. I had the opportunity to capture it and nearby Hardy Lake as the last days of the 2011 summer passed into memory. As luck would have it, the sunsets were spectacular every single night we were there.
This wonderful gushing track by Sigur Ros ( Med sud í eyrum ) just seemed to fit the overwhelming beauty of this place like a glove.
