FlightLapse #1 – MilkyWay

FlightLapse #01 – MilkyWay from SkyProduction on Vimeo.

Flying through the night, while the world beneath us is at sleep, is a pretty common thing as a longhaul pilot. Late evening departures lead to far distant destinations like Singapore, Hong Kong, Sao Paolo or J’burg. Depending on the direction of the flight the crew and the passengers either have a short night up ahead if flying eastbound or almost eternal darkness if headed westwards. The Lion City II – Majulah

The Lion City II – Majulah from Keith Loutit on Vimeo.

Majulah – ‘Onward’.

When we pass by landscapes they appear fixed in time, but they change around us constantly. The idea behind this film is to reveal this change by returning to the same camera positions over the years.

Special thanks to Michael for the amazing soundtrack, and for keeping me motivated over the past few years of shooting.

Hello Tokyo

Hello Tokyo from Christoph Gelep on Vimeo.

This film was shot over a 5 day trip to Tokyo in January 2016.

It was my first time visiting Japan, a place I had always wanted to see. With a population of 35 million, Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world. Due to this, I soon realised how lively and energetic this city really is.

I decided to take my camera and explore this fascinating city so rich in culture, tradition and innovation.

Equipment and Software used:

Canon 5D Mark III
Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 Di VC
Samyang 14mm T3.1
Edelkrone Slider & Action Module
Adobe After Effects
Twixtor
Lightroom
LR Timelapse

Music: Bonobo – Sapphire

Los Angeles Hyperlapse/Timelapse Compilation

Los Angeles Hyperlapse/Timelapse Compilation from Vadim Tereshchenko on Vimeo.

This is compilation of hyperlapse videos that I shot over the course of the past 2 years. I spent a lot of time scouting for locations, waiting for the perfect conditions, and catching the beauty of the city. Lighting is important. Sunrises, sunsets; transitions from dawn to day, and from dusk to dark. I used a lot of self-developed tricks and techniques in both the shooting and editing processes – it took a lot of time and passion to make this video.

The music that I used is a wonderful ODESZA (odesza.com/) remix of a PRETTY LIGHTS (prettylightsmusic.com/) track entitled ONE DAY THEY’LL KNOW. There is plenty of beautiful music on this album that you can find here itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-color-map-of-the-sun-remixes/id739033391
It was hard to find the right music, but this amazing track matched perfectly with my idea for the video.

ALBAN ENDLOS – UMDA (A journey through India in 4 Minutes, color graded on a used VHS)

ALBAN ENDLOS – UMDA (A journey through India in 4 Minutes, colorgraded on a used VHS) from David Aufdembrinke on Vimeo.

\\ Find out more about the brand new “UMDA EP” release at alban-endlos.bandcamp.com //

To measure up to the electro-acoustic sound and the diversity of Alban Endlos’ first album “Goldene Welt / Golden World” we let our camera travel into another world. During a six week journey from the highest north into the deepest south of India over ten hours of video-footage were generated and combined through an ambitious editing-concept allowing only to use match-cuts. To adapt the analogue nature of the music and the images, the final effects and colortunings were done with a magnet on an old VHS Tape and were composited in an extensive post-production to achieve the effect of a VHS Image in Full-HD Resolution.

Dubai Flow Motion

Dubai Flow Motion from Rob Whitworth on Vimeo.

My first impression of Dubai was that of super-tall buildings jutting out of the desert sand. However, after 3 months of exploration, research and filming, my lasting impression is of the eternal wonder of the desert and the importance it holds for the Emirati people.

Dubai may be home to the world’s most outrageous skyline but Dubai’s desert dunes and historical creek are where you’ll find its soul.

A special thank you to Dubai Film for making this project possible and for providing the extraordinary access which enabled me to realise this story.

If you want to see more…
